Nutrition for
Horses
in Maintenance or in Light Training
"OTB"
12% Complete Horse Ration is ideal to feed horses that are in
maintenance or a light training schedule because of its
high digestible fibre content and low grain content (particularly starch
content) which can help eliminate metabolic problems.
Remember, the horse
evolved as a grazing animal living on forages and forages contain
digestible fibre. The 12% Complete contains stabilized rice bran which
contains fibre and high oil content. This oil digests slowly which
gives the horse metabolic energy without making the horse mentally hot
to handle.
The 12% Complete Horse Ration is designed to be fed with
Alberta forages as a total balanced diet for the horse. It contains highly bio-available organic zinc, copper,
cobalt and manganese which are readily absorbed through the digestive tract
wall into the bloodstream
“No hoof, no horse" is a reality in horses. The 12%
Complete Horse Ration contains organic zinc and biotin which promotes
healthy hoof growth in horses.
How much should I feed?
“OTB” 12% Complete
Horse Ration should be fed at 5 - 15 lbs/ day (1100 lb horse)*
* The risk of metabolic
problems for the horse can be avoided if the horse is fed more than once a
day.
Feeding a high quality mineral with chelated copper,
manganese, zinc and cobalt like the “OTB” Equine Endurance Premix is highly
recommended for young horses since they are still growing
One should also feed good quality, non-dusty hay and
allow access to fresh drinking water. |
