For Senior Horses
“OTB”12%
Complete Horse Ration is ideal to feed to senior horses because of its
high digestible fibre content and low grain content (particularly starch
content) which can cause metabolic problems. Remember, the horse
evolved as a grazing animal, living on forages that contain
digestible fibre. The 12% Complete contains stabilized rice bran which
contains both fibre and high oil content. This oil digests slowly which
gives the horse metabolic energy without making the horse mentally hot
to handle.
This
12% Complete is ideal to feed to senior horses since it is a pelleted
form. Senior horses often suffer from poor teeth which reduces their
chewing ability. A senior horse can be fed “OTB” 12% Complete Horse
Ration and even with limited chewing, can utilize the nutrients in the
horse ration.
Research suggests that senior horses can not digest essential amino
acids as rapidly as young horses thus it is important to balance the
amino acid components of the protein in a horses’ diet. The 12%
Complete Horse Ration is designed to be fed with Alberta forages as a
total balanced diet for the horse.
The
12% Complete Horse ration also contains highly bio-available organic
zinc, copper, cobalt and manganese which are readily absorbed through
the digestive tract wall into the bloodstream
“No
