Sealers for Drywall

Sealers for drywall are used to even out the porosity between the paper face of the gyproc and the drywall mud which has far higher absorption.  More about sealers.

Super Seal Latex Sealer

Our most efficient sealer - performs better than any other sealer in the market - it can be safely used for any drywall sealing application.

Hi Hide Latex Sealer

This product has better opacity than Super Seal and works best under a latex topcoat.  Not recommended under an alkyd as it may result in flashing.

Professional Latex Sealer

This sealer was formulated to maximize hiding power and it enables a two coat application on new construction work.  It is only suitable under latex topcoats and has significantly lower sealing power than Super Seal. 

Drywall Sealer

This product combines the lower hiding power of Super Seal with the lower sealing properties of Hi Hide - the result is an economical sealer.

Latex Textureseal

This is a flat latex formulated as a base for texture coatings on ceilings to provide hiding power as textures can be transparent between peaks.

 
Sealers for Wood

The surface of the wood begins to decay as soon as it is exposed to sunlight and moisture.  Sealers are used to protect the wood from the elements and also even out the porosity of the wood to provide a uniform finish. Wood is a natural material and varies in composition from hard to soft even over a small area.  The cellulose fibres in the surface of unprotected wood swells up when the wood absorbs water.  These fibres do not shrink back to their original size and protrude from the surface.  When choosing a wood sealer you need optimum penetration to achieve a good bond.

Interior Alkyd Primer Sealer

This is a high quality alkyd sealer which has good penetration into wood and allows excellent adhesion.

Interior Alkyd Undercoat

This is a flat alkyd which contains far more pigment than sealer to provide good hiding power and film build.  It has good sanding properties which makes it suitable for use as an intermediate coat between the sealer and the topcoat.  A good choice when repainting over oiled gloss paint to eliminate the need for extensive sanding.

Exterior Oil Primer

Most woods used for exterior construction are very porous.  Exterior Oil Primer contains oil in addition to alkyd resin which slows down the drying enabling better penetration.  It also contains stain control agents which block soluble stains and fungicide control to prevent growth of mildew on the paint film.

Exterior Alkyd Primer

Similar to the Exterior Oil Primer this product does not contain oil.  Good as a spot primer where it is used as a combined primer/undercoat.  It contains a higher level of pigment and can be used as an undercoat over old gloss paint to eliminate the need for sanding.
